President Joe Biden tested negative for Covid-19 Saturday but will continue “strict isolation measures” until he tests negative a second time, the White House physician said.
“The President continues to feel very well,” White House physician Kevin O’Connor wrote in a letter released Saturday.
“In an abundance of caution, the President will continue his strict isolation measures pending a second negative test as previously described,” O’Connor wrote.
Biden, who is fully vaccinated and doubly boosted, initially tested positive for Covid-19 July 21 and experienced “very mild” symptoms. Biden began taking Pfizer’s antiviral pill Paxlovid but later experienced a Covid-19 rebound on July 30, a phenomenon that has occurred in some cases after people take Paxlovid.
The White House announced Friday that the president will travel with first lady Jill Biden to Kentucky on Monday to meet with families affected by recent floods that have devastated the eastern part of the state.
